The convention will host a one day symposium titled “Window to Islam”, on Saturday, May 28th, from 10am through 3pm, for individuals of other faith or no faith, that will include sessions on various topics pertaining to Islam and Muslims, including interactive and candid Q&A sessions.
The symposium as well as the Q&A session will be geared towards fulfilling a growing need for accurate information on Islam and Muslims.
Islam, the religion of approximately 7 million Americans and about 1.2 billion worldwide enjoins faith in One God, peace, and humility as well as social, communal and family values. The symposium will address the prevailing myths and misconceptions that are fueling Islamophobia. The diverse interactive gathering will be an opportunity for people of various faiths and backgrounds to discuss a range of socio-religious issues pertaining to Islam and Muslims. The convention features, besides this symposium, informative sessions, extensive Q&A, Cultural Bazaar, Art Exhibitions, Cross Culture Interaction, Live Nasheed (Islamic Songs), and much more.
The objective of this event is to promote dialogue between different cultures and faiths, that will contribute to a more peaceful and tolerant society. Every year thousands of people from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities participate in such events.
